Legacy Donation Appraisers

FAQ

Is ItsDeductible discontinued?

Yes, ItsDeductible has been permanently discontinued. Intuit shut down the service on October 21, 2025, and the website, mobile app, and TurboTax integration are no longer active.

The tool had a rocky history before its final retirement. Intuit first announced a shutdown in 2022, reversed course after customer backlash, then re-announced and followed through with the permanent closure in October 2025. Users can still download historical data from their Intuit account, but that export does not feed directly into a tax return the way the original integration did.

For donors who relied on ItsDeductible to value non-cash contributions, the closure creates a real gap, especially for larger donations. The IRS requires a qualified appraisal prepared by a credentialed appraiser for any non-cash charitable contribution exceeding $5,000, and that requirement was never something a self-service app could satisfy anyway. If your donated property crosses that threshold, a charitable donation appraisal prepared in accordance with USPAP and IRS requirements for Form 8283, Section B is the appropriate path. You can also review what the IRS Form 8283 is used for and how to determine the value of donated items to understand what documentation your deduction will need.
